Texas Tommy
The Texas Tommy has almost disappeared into dance history archives but is mentioned here because it was said to be an important forerunner of the Lindy Hop. Most dances of the 1920's required the man to hold his partner in closed position (up close). But the Texas Tommy featured an open hold (partners further apart) and was said to have included an eight count basic, which was adopted by the Lindy, but no one knows for sure.
